DBT Groups
Adolescent DBT:
The Adolescent DBT Skills Group is a structured group, not a processing group, so group members do not share traumatic or triggering information. The structure is based on teaching sets of skills to then practice each week. The main goals of the skills group are to help learn skills for being mindfully present in the moment, to get through crisis situations without making them worse, to be able to accurately name emotions, and be able to change emotions if we want to or sit with them if we need to. Finally, the group will teach communication skills to be able to ask for help, say no, improve relationships with others, and improve self-respect.
Our Adolescent DBT Skills Group meets Thursdays from 5:00-6:30 pm. The process to join the group is that we would schedule you a 50-minute intake appointment with one of the co-facilitators of the group, so they can determine if the group is the right fit for you based on your needs.
The initial intake appointment is $150. After the intake, we will enroll you in the group at the next start date. Group start dates are every 4-6 weeks. Each group session is $80 per 90 minute session.
Our Adolescent DBT Skills Group has 4 modules and each module is 4 weeks long, with 2 weeks of mindfulness in between each module. This group is held weekly and we recommend weekly attendance in order to get the full benefits of DBT Skills. That said, you can choose to withdraw from the group at any time for any reason. If you are unable to attend any of the weeks we just ask you to contact us or your group facilitator 24 hours in advance to avoid the late cancellation fee.
